Leptospira is a rapid, qualitative, sandwich immunoassay for the detection and differentiation of IgG and IgM antibodies to Leptospira interrogans (L. interrogans) in human serum, plasma or whole blood specimens. It is useful for the diagnosis of current or recent Leptospirosis. The broadly reactive genus specific antigen employed in the test allows the detection of Leptospira infections caused by a wide range of strains of different serovars. It has been recognized as an occupational hazard mainly in farmers, sewers, and miners, caused by infection with pathogenic spirochete of genus Leptospira
